The Bison stayed in the hunt for the Patriot League title with a 21-14 victory over Holy Cross at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium ... the Bison are now 6-2 overall and 4-1 in league play, and they host unbeaten Lehigh next Saturday ... Bucknell clinched its seventh straight winning season for the first time in school history ... head coach Tom Gadd recorded his 48th victory at Bucknell, tying Bob Curtis' school record ... against Holy Cross, the Bison let a 14-3 lead slip away, but answered the Crusaders' tying score with a 7-play, 75-yard drive that ended with a 25-yard touchdown pass from QB Todd Wenrich to WR Jim Horan with 11:36 remaining in the fourth quarter ... the junior combo had a terrific day, as Wenrich completed 23 of 37 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns, while Horan caught eight passes for a career-high 119 yards and the winning score ... Horan, who has 20 catches in the last two weeks, remains in sixth place on Bucknell's career receptions chart with 111 ... Wenrich's other TD pass went to FB J.C. Morgan, a 4-yard hookup in the second quarter ...that score gave the Bison a 14-3 lead, just 3:01 after RB Jabu Powell got Bucknell on the board with a 3-yard run ... Morgan had a career-high five catches for 37 yards, including his third TD of the season ... Powell rushed for 98 yards on 30 carries ... Bucknell entered the game ranked 10th nationally in both scoring defense (15.3) and rushing defense (90.1), and improved on both averages ... the Herd limited the Crusaders to a meager 16 rushing yards on 21 attempts, including minus-6 yards in the second half ... after the Bison took the lead early in the fourth quarter, Holy Cross went three-and-out on each of its final three drives, netting minus-12 yards on those three possessions ... Bucknell outgained Holy Cross 367-211, checking the Crusaders 131 yards below their season average ... Holy Cross managed only 12 first downs in the game and went 3-for-16 on third down ... NG Adam Lord had a monster game, with a team-high nine tackles (seven solo), three hits for loss, two sacks and a pair of quarterback hurries ... CB Jerome Acy had eight hits (seven solo) and recorded his first career interception on the Bucknell 2-yard line ... OLB Joe Massey and SS Will Smith also had sacks for the Bison ... CB George Cowan had a fine day on special teams, registering his second blocked punt of the season and a fumble recovery on a fourth-quarter punt return ... the Bison trimmed Holy Cross' series lead to 11-7 and won their fifth straight at home against the Crusaders ... Bucknell is 4-0 at home this season and 28-9 at home under Gadd.
