Lane Schwarzberg's 33-yard field goal with 2:53 remaining lifted Colgate to a come-from-behind 15-13 victory over Bucknell in the season finale for both teams at Andy Kerr Stadium ... the Bison finish the season 6-4 (4-3 Patriot League), giving them seven straight winning seasons for the first time in school history ... Bucknell K Chris Lundberg, who earlier had kicked field goals of 23 and 32 yards, missed from 46 with 18 seconds remaining ... the Bison built a 13-0 second-quarter lead behind the two field goals and a 2-yard touchdown run from sophomore RB Jess Brinson ... clinging to a 13-12 lead, two late-fourth quarter special teams miscues hurt Bucknell ... the Bison forced Colgate to punt on 4th-and-30, but CB Jerome Acy fumbled the return and the Raiders recovered on the Bucknell 23 ...three plays later Schwarzberg booted the go-ahead field goal ... freshman WR Daris Wilson then fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and although Colgate was stopped on downs, it chewed 1:35 off the clock and meant Bucknell would get a last chance with only 1:04 remaining and no timeouts ... a 31-yard pass from QB Todd Wenrich to WR Jim Horan moved the ball into Raiders territory, but the Herd could get no closer than the 29 and had to settle for a 46-yard field goal try ... Wenrich completed 15 of 32 passes for 226 yards ... Horan caught six passes for 90 yards ... Brinson rushed 26 times for 83 yards and a touchdown filling in for senior RB Jabu Powell, who missed his final career game with an ankle injury ... Wenrich finished the season with 209 completions in 384 attempts, both school records ... his 2,327 passing yards were second-most in school history, behind Scott Auchenbach's 2,385 yards in 1989 ... Horan finished the season with 59 catches in nine games, tying him with Tom Mitchell (1965) for the third-highest single-season total at Bucknell ... Horan's 127 career grabs are fifth in BU annals, one behind Dan Scocca (1987-90) for fourth place and two behind Rich Lemon (1993-96) for fourth ... Horan will enter his senior season 46 catches shy of Mitchell's career record of 173 ... Bucknell's defense turned in another stellar effort against Colgate, limiting the Patriot League's top-ranked offense to only 214 total yards, 210 below its season average ... junior OLBs Joe Massey and Juan Morales each recorded three sacks ... Massey finished with seven tackles, six resulting in lost yardage ... sophomore ILB Stephane Pluviose logged a career-high 18 tackles, the most by a Bucknell player this season ... Pluviose, in his first season as a starter, finished with a team-high 83 tackles ... sophomore SS Virgil Rush and senior CB Reed Tunison intercepted passes against Colgate, giving both players a team-high three pickoffs this season ... head coach Tom Gadd was denied in his bid to become Bucknell's all-time winningest coach ... he remains tied with Bob Curtis (1975-85) with 48 victories ... the game was the 50th in the Bucknell-Colgate series ... the Raiders took a 36-14 series lead ... due to the cancellation of the Cornell game in the wake of the Sept. 11 tragedies, Bucknell played 10 games this season, its fewest since 1991.
