American, Navy Defeat Bucknell Swimming & Diving Teams

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Sophomore Sarah Petcavage and freshman Adam Freeman were undefeated in the diving events, but the Bucknell University swimming & diving teams were dealt three losses this afternoon to Patriot League opponents American and Navy.
The Bison women fell to American 179-121 while dropping a 185.5-114.5 decision to Navy, and Bucknell's record now stands at 2-2. Petcavage placed first against both American and Navy in the 1 meter diving (215.75) as well as the 3 meter diving (219.80).
Joining Petcavage in the victory column against Navy were freshman Jackie Feinthel, junior Darby Golino and freshman Jamie Flick. Feinthel captured the 800 free in 9:17.37, Golino came out on top in the 100 back (1:07.36), and Flick touched the wall first in the 100 breast (1:14.56).
In the men's competition, Bucknell lost to American by a score of 167-129, and the Bison dropped to 1-2 on the season. Freeman posted scores of 267.90 in the 1 meter diving and 218.80 in the 3 meters, both of which were good enough for first. Other Bison who placed first against the Eagles were sophomores Michael Harrigan and Peter Garvin. Harrigan captured the 200 fly in 2:14.45, while Garvin raced to victory in the 100 free in 53.69.
Bucknell will take a week off before the diving teams travel to the Drexel Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 1. The swimming teams return to action on Sunday, Dec. 2 at the Princeton Invitational.
