PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bison men's water polo team, in action at the Eastern Championship at Princeton this weekend, dropped two tough games to nationally ranked foes St. Francis (N.Y.) and Princeton. The Orange and Blue fell 17-6 to 15th-ranked St. Francis (N.Y.) and lost 13-1 to 12th-ranked Princeton.
Against the Terriers, six different players scored Bucknell's goals, but the all around team effort was not enough to overcome the national power. Senior David Kennedy (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day School) recorded 11 saves in the contest, while also handing out one assist and collecting two steals.
The effort against Princeton was no more successful as the Orange and Blue could only manage one goal against the Tigers. Junior Chris Saxton (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) scored Bucknell's lone goal in the contest, while junior Adam Yerkes (Orlando, Fla./Winter Park) and Kennedy were both credited with an assist. Kennedy also tallied 15 saves in the goal, giving him 987 stops in his career.
