LEWISBURG, Pa. - The postseason honors for Bucknell field hockey senior defenders Lauren Campbell (Harleyville, Pa./Souderton H.S.) and Monica McCorry (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock H.S.) continue to pour in, as both players were named to the 2001 STX/NFHCA Division I Mideast Regional All-America team.
Campbell was named to the all-region first team after earning second-team honors last season. McCorry was a first-team honoree in 2000 and a second-team choice this year. Both players were All-Patriot League selections this fall, and both were invited to the North-South All-Star Game, with Campbell voted a starter and McCorry an alternate.
Campbell, who started all but one game for the Bison over the last three years, enjoyed another outstanding season. She finished second on the team with 14 points (five goals, four assists), with two of those goals coming in a 3-2 win over American in the season finale. She was also one of the team's top defenders, as she ranked among the Bucknell leaders with 44 interceptions and led the team with 68 positive tackles.
McCorry also started all 17 games for the Bison this season and never missed a start in four years. She paced the squad with 69 interceptions while finishing one behind Campbell for team honors with 67 positive tackles. She also topped Bucknell with five defensive goal line saves. McCorry also scored her first collegiate goal this season in a 5-1 victory over Towson.
