Holy Cross Defeats Bucknell Men's Soccer in Overtime, 1-0

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Holy Cross scored the game-winning goal 4:20 into overtime, and handed the Bucknell University men's soccer a 1-0 defeat at West Field this afternoon.
With the loss, the Bison fell out of contention for a spot in the upcoming Patriot League tournament. With three games remaining on its schedule, Bucknell is now 5-9-1 and 0-4-1 in the league.
Forward Matt Ney punched in a deflected shot following a through ball into a wide-open net for Holy Cross, which improved its record to 9-4-1. The Crusaders also remained undefeated in the Patriot League at 6-0-1.
Sophomore goalie Steve Whitaker made five saves in net for the Bison, while sophomore keeper Kevin Baker stopped four shots for the Crusaders to earn his sixth shutout of the season.
Bucknell picks up its schedule on Wednesday when it travels to Harlequin Rugby Club in Indianola, Pa. to take on the University of Pittsburgh at 7 p.m.
