
Bison Men's Water Polo Earns Fourth at Inter-Regional Championship

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bucknell men's water polo team completed play at the inter-regional championship of the Collegiate Water Polo Association, being held at Princeton this weekend. On Sunday, the Bison lost to Johns Hopkins, 10-8, earning fourth place at the tournament.
Sophomore Jamie Saettele (St. Louis, Mo./Ladue Horton Watkins) and freshman Aaron Platshon (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo School) led the squad offensively with two goals a piece. Platshon also handed out one assist and had one steal in the contest. Freshman Elliot Benoist (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day School) connected on a team-high three assists in the game, while also recording one ejection drawn.
In the net, senior co-captain David Kennedy (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day School) recorded 18 saves to add to his school record for career saves. The goalkeeper now has 872 career stops.
Bucknell falls to 8-11 overall and evens its conference mark at 4-4. The Bison are in action next at the ECAC Championship at Harvard.
