
Bison Water Polo Squad Gets Back on Track With Victory

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Competing at the Claremont Convergence, held on the campuses of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Friday and Saturday, October 12-13, the Bucknell men's water polo team got back on the winning side with a 7-3 victory over Whittier.
After suffering six-straight losses to nationally ranked teams, the Orange and Blue finally came out on top, defeating the eighth-ranked Division III school in the country. Senior Ryan McCarty (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day) and sophomore Jamie Saettele (St. Louis, Mo./Ladue Horton Watkins) were Bucknell's leaders offensively with two goals apiece. Saettele also handed out one assists in the game while collecting two steals. Freshman Aaron Platshon (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo School) played well in his home state, scoring once, assisting on two goals and registering a team-high three steals.
Senior David Kennedy (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day) made 12 saves in the contest and needs just eight more to become BU's all-time career save leader.
Bucknell improves to 5-9 overall and faces Occidental at 9:30 p.m. ET.
