Sophomore Women's Basketball Player Ranked Among Nation's Leaders

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell sophomore guard Molly Creamer (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham) is among the nation's leaders in average points per game and steals per game. The 2000-01 NCAA Women's Basketball statistics leaders were updated on Tuesday, January 23.
Creamer, who leads the team and the Patriot League in scoring at 19.5 ppg, is ranked 25th in the nation with her scoring average. The sophomore has tallied 331 points through 17 games played this season and is the fifth-highest scoring sophomore in the country. Creamer was named the Patriot League Player of the Week for the week ending December 10 after averaging 26.5 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Bison. She has also been named to the all-tournament teams at the Cornell Classic (Dec. 1-2) and the PNC Wildcat Classic at Villanova (Dec. 29-30). In the consolation game of the PNC Wildcat Classic, Creamer scored 22 points in the second half on her way to a career-high 33 points in the game.
In addition to her offensive output, Creamer is also leading the league and 28th in the country in steals with 3.1 thefts each time out. She has equaled her career-high for steals (five) on two different occasions this season, and has tallied that total four times in her career.
The Bison are 12-5 and look to improve on their record when they travel to Colgate for a Patriot League match-up with the Red Raiders on January 24. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
