The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, November 6. Russo is a forward and tri-captain on Coach Lewis' team and has been a very vocal leader for the Orange and Blue during the 2000 season. She completes her field hockey career at Bucknell with three goals and four assists. Her contributions to the program go much farther than numbers, Russo has been one of the most vocal and inspirational athletes to ever play field hockey for the Orange and Blue.
The field hockey team concluded its season with a 4-1 defeat to Holy Cross in the Patriot League Championship game. This is the second season in a row that the field hockey team has reached the league's championship contest. The Bison finish the 2000 campaign with a 9-11 overall and 3-3 conference record.
