Killian Wins Subway Athlete of the Month Award for October

Lewisburg, Pa. --- Bucknell sophomore Karla Killian (Dayton, Md./River Hill) has received the Subway Athlete of the Month Award for the month of October in women's soccer.
The award was announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Monday, November 6. Sponsored by Lewisburg Subway, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. Other winners for the month of October, as selected by the respective coaches, included junior Shannon Walker in volleyball, junior Becki Marshall in cross country, junior Hilary Mainka in golf, junior Abby Weaver in swimming, and senior Brett Russo in field hockey.
Killian is a defender on the Bucknell women's soccer and came on in the late stages of the season as a strong vocal leader in the defensive unit. She recently garnered her first All-Patriot League honors when she received Second Team honors prior to the Patriot League Women's Soccer Championship held in Hamilton, N.Y. Killian finished the season with three assists while being the left defender in a defense that shutout its opponent four times this season.
The women's soccer team concluded its season with a first round loss to Holy Cross at the Patriot League Tournament in Hamilton, N.Y. With the 1-0 defeat, the Bison finish the season with a 8-9-1 overall mark and a 3-2-1 Patriot League record.
