Desiree Almind Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Freshman forward Desiree Almind (Blairstown, N.J./North Warren Regional) was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week after scoring 21 points in her collegiate debut versus American on Saturday, November 20. She also added five rebounds and three steals in the contest.
Almind was seven-of-14 from the floor and solid from the free throw line, hitting seven-of-eight. She contributed with several key plays in the second stanza to secure the Bison victory over future Patriot League member, American, 79-73. Her steal with 00:47 left in the contest and two free throws with 00:04 on the clock slammed the door shut on any hopes of a comeback by the Eagles.
The Bucknell women's basketball team returns home to Davis Gymnasium for a contest versus Maryland-Eastern Shore on Wednesday, November 22. Tip-off is at 5:15 p.m.
