LEWISBURG, PA - The Patriot League announced its All-Anniversary
Football Team today and four former Bucknell University football
players were among the 24 players honored as members of the squad.
The team, comprised of 11 offensive players, 11 defensive players,
a kicker and a punter, includes student-athletes from the inception
of the league in 1986 up and through the 1999 season.
Heading the group of Bison selected to the team is the school's
all-time leading rusher, Rich Lemon (Warren, Ohio/Niles McKinley).
He graduated in 1997 with more than 15 school records, and owns
the career rushing mark by more than 2,000 yards with 4,742 yards
on 994 career carries. Lemon still ranks second in Patriot League
history and 10th in Division I-AA with that yardage total. He
is tied with three other players for the NCAA Division I-AA record
for consecutive games in a season gaining 100-yards or more at
11, and registered 28 100-yard games in his brilliant career.
Lemon was named the Patriot League's Co-Player of the Year and
Offensive Player of the Year in 1994 after setting a school single-season
record with 1,496 yards. He broke onto the league scene in 1993
with 1,151 yards and was promptly tabbed as the Rookie of the
Year.
Mariusz Misiec, a 1998 graduate and one of the offensive lineman
that helped pave the way for Lemon's outstanding career, has also
been selected to the All-Anniversary Team. A native of Gainesville,
Florida (Eastside H.S.), Misiec was a three-time All-Patriot League
selection, including first team nods in both 1996 and 1997. At
6'3," 293-pounds he started 29 straight games for the Bison
before suffering an injury in the seventh game of his senior season.
Misiec is one of just three offensive linemen named to the All-Anniversary
Team.
Hunter Adams, one of the best defensive ends to ever play at Bucknell,
has also been named to the All-Anniversary Team. Adams was a three-time
All-Patriot League selection, including first team honors in both
1996 and 1997. At 6'5," 278-pounds, he was a fierce pass
rusher who presented all sorts of problems for opposing quarterbacks.
He finished his career with 188 tackles, 6.5 sacks and more than
a dozen batted-down passes from his end position.
The final Bison selected to the All-Anniversary Team is defensive
end Ed Burman. A native of Kensington, Maryland (The Landon School)
who graduated in 1996, Burman was a two-time All-Patriot League
selection and one of the best pass rushers in the history of the
conference. He still owns Bucknell records for sacks in a game
(4), season (14.5) and career (25.5). He was tabbed by the league's
head coaches as the Defensive Player of the Year following the
1995 campaign during which he set a school record with 14.5 sacks.
