LEWISBURG, PA - Three Bucknell University football players
were honored Tuesday afternoon at the Lewisburg Touchdown Club
Luncheon. The player of the game honors for the Duquesne contest
were selected by the Bucknell coaching staff and publicly announced
at the weekly affair.
Junior wide receiver Kyle Harris (Provo, Utah/Timpview H.S./Ricks
Junior College-Idaho) was tabbed as the Offensive-Player-of-the-Game
after hauling in a game-high nine receptions for 112 yards. Harris
became the first Bison receiver to tally more than 100-receiving
yards since Ronnie Rockett had 119 yards in November of 1998 at
Holy Cross.
Senior free safety Kevin Eiben (Delta, British Columbia/Vancouver
College) was named the Defensive-Player-of-the-Game. The award
capped a trio of honors Eiben received this week after setting
a Patriot League record and tying the school mark with four interceptions
against Duquesne. Earlier in the week he was named the national
Div. I-AA co-Defensive Player of the Week by The Sports Network,
and the co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Patriot League.
In addition to his four interceptions, which he returned for
a total of 73 yards, Eiben tied for the team lead with five tackles
and returned a pair of punts for 64 yards.
Junior linebacker Nick Sajone (Shenandoah, Pa./Shenandoah Valley)
was chosen as the Special Teams-Player-of-the-Game. The Bison
special teams unit again won the field position battle, forcing
the Dukes to start at an average of their own 31-yard line, while
Bucknell began its drives, on average, at its own 37-yard line.
Bucknell will take to the road for the first time in over a month
when it visits Georgetown this Saturday, October 7. Kickoff at
Kehoe Field is at 1:00 p.m.
