Brinson Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, PA - Bucknell University freshman tailback
Jess Brinson (Ambridge, Pa./Ambridge) was selected as the Patriot
League's Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October
22, 2000.
Pressed into extensive action with the injury to teammate Jabu
Powell (nation's 10th leading rusher), Brinson responded with
98 yards of total offense in Bucknell's 21-14 setback at nationally-ranked
Lehigh. The 6'2," 185-pound frosh carried the ball 18 times
for 40 yards and scored his first collegiate touchdown on a three-yard
run in the fourth quarter.
In addition, he caught four passes for 58 yards, including a long
of 18. Brinson has rushed for 99 yards so far in his first collegiate
season.
Bucknell hosts Fordham for Homecoming this Saturday. Kickoff
at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium is at 1:00 p.m.
