UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Bucknell field hockey team, coming off its 2-1 overtime victory over nationally ranked Lock Haven, defeated Indiana University, 4-0, on Friday, October 6, at Penn State University. The 2000 season marks the first year for the Indiana program.
Bucknell struck early on an unassisted goal by junior midfielder Dena Ebert (West Long Branch, N.J./Shore Regional) with 31:31 left to play in the first half.
The rest of the opening stanza was a defensive battle, as the score remained 1-0 at the break. As the second 35:00 began, the Bison came out strong, scoring on a goal by junior Lauren Campbell (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) at 33:26 in the second half. Indiana's defense held tight, keeping the score at 2-0 until eight minutes remaining in the game when junior Melissa Maher (Marcy, N.Y./Whitesboro) made the score 3-0. Ebert scored her second and Bucknell's final goal off a rebound to secure the win with 6:23 remaining in the contest.

ranked James Madison for a 12:00 noon contest on Sunday, October
8. The Hoosiers (1-5) continue their Pennsylvania road trip with
a conference game against Penn State on Saturday, October 7, at
3:00 p.m.
