Cinjun Erskine became a student assistant coach on the Bucknell football staff in 2017 after his playing career was cut short by injury.

In his new role, Erskine serves as an offensive quality control assistant. He is primarily tasked with assisting in video breakdown, data analysis and scout team preparation. He also helps offensive coordinator Bobby Acosta lead the Bison quarterbacks through on-field drills.

An education major entering his senior year, Erskine came to Bucknell as a quarterback before transitioning to running back during his sophomore year. As a junior in 2017, he was expected to play fullback but then suffered a career-ending injury.

Following that campaign, Erskine was honored with the Bobby Pangburn Memorial Award for his commitment, dedication and unqualified friendship. He also earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

The Barnegat, N.J. native saw game action during his freshman season, appearing on the kickoff coverage team in Bucknell’s final four games. He made three solo tackles in his collegiate debut at Lafayette.

During his time at Barnegat High School, Erskine was a four-year letterwinner in both football and track & field. Over the course of his football career, he completed 179 of 320 passes for 2,664 yards and 23 touchdowns while adding 1,357 rushing yards. He captured All-America laurels as a freshman punter and led his team to two-straight conference titles and its first sectional title game as a quarterback. He also found success in track & field, earning a Group 2 state title in the javelin throw.
