2017-18 (Freshman): Went 2-11 while wrestling exclusively at tournaments in the 141-pound weight class ... first career win came by fall at the Lock Haven Classic (Dec. 29).
Before Bucknell: Three-year starter and two-year captain at John Jay High School … state qualifier in New York … three-time all-league and two-time all-county … Westchester County champion … two-time all-section … went 40-5 his senior season … helped team go 46-4 and win two section titles over his final two seasons … team took sixth at Eastern States twice and seventh at the NYS Dual Meet Championship … competed with Iowa Style Wrestling.
Personal: Son of James and Cory Cotto … has one older sister, Carol, and one younger sister, Lucy … major is undeclared … volunteers with the non-profit group Operation Smile, receiving international recognition for the amount of money he has raised over the years … chosen for a medical mission trip to China.
