As a freshman, Soren raced in 5 seat of the second varsity eight, winning the MARC and the B-final at ACRAs.

Before Bucknell: Soren began his racing career as a sophomore at Harriton High School in the spring of 2021. That summer, he switched to Whitemarsh Boat Club, where he finished out his high school career. In his senior year, after a very successful fall season, he was elected captain, voted as most valuable team member, and achieved a 7th place finish in the A-final at Youth Nationals in 3 seat of the varsity quad.

Personal Life: Son of Sara Kulleseid and John Stein, brother to older sister Kari and younger sister Laila. Soren is pursuing a BA in Philosophy, as well as a minor in Linguistics.
