As a Freshman Ryan raced in 2 seat of the Varsity 8, beating Michigan for the first time in 5 years at home and winning the B-final at ACRAs.
As a Sophomore Ryan again raced in 2 seat of the varsity 8, getting 16th at HOCR, the best finish in recent years. That boat also finished 2nd at the MARC regatta.
Before Bucknell: Ryan rowed for four years in high school, 2 years for Haddonfield Crew Club and 2 years for South Jersey Rowing Club, where he placed 4th at Youth Nationals in the 4+ in 2022. Personal Life: Son of Dan Genel and Tanya Stavisky, has two sibling Drew and Alexander. Ryan is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Political Science
