McNeil Parker joined the Bucknell football staff as safeties coach and defensive pass game coordinator in March 2023.
Parker, who has worked with defensive units at four different collegiate institutions, most recently spent two years as the safeties coach at Stony Brook. He aided in game plan and schematic decisions for the Seawolves and was also responsible for punt return schemes and implementation.
Prior to his time at Stony Brook, Parker served as defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2020 at Christopher Newport, where he led the eighth-ranked defense in NCAA Division III. Parker’s defense allowed just 12.4 points per game during his first season in Newport News, Va., and he coached back-to-back Defensive All-Region selections while working closely with the team’s defensive backs.
Parker spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons at The Peddie School in New Jersey, serving as defensive coordinator.
Parker also brings prior Patriot League experience, having spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons as Lafayette’s safeties coach. His FBS experience includes a two-year stint at Northwestern, where he worked as a defensive graduate assistant and recruiting assistant.
Parker was a four-year letterwinner in football and tennis at Kenyon College in Ohio, where he played quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Kenyon in 2010 and completed his master's degree in sports administration at Northwestern in 2012.
Coach Parker is married to his wife, Christine, and they have two daughters, Nelle and Kate.Â
