Dear Bison Friends, Family, Alumni, and Fans,
I hope this letter finds you well. This email is coming to you from a little after the halfway point in our season, and what a season it has been so far! This preseason we spent time in South Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware, and both Madeira Beach and Jacksonville, Florida. While that is challenging in its way to have to travel so much, we had a great time together, and it was a very competitive schedule that I think prepared us very well for our Patriot League conference season.
We have had a “hot” start to Patriot League play with a three-game sweep over Lafayette in weekend one, and then we won the series over Army this past weekend. The second game of the Army series was especially exciting as we had a walk-off hit by sophomore Angelina Seropian, to win the game in the bottom of the 7th. We refer to that as the “Becker Field Magic”, since that has been a reoccurring theme for us when we play at home.
Looking forward, we are excited for this weekend, our second in a row at home, to face off against in-state rival Lehigh (otherwise known as “that brown team”). We are hoping to continue our hot start while competing for a spot in the Patriot League Tournament and ultimately a Patriot League title. In addition to playing a home for back-to-back weeks, we are thrilled to welcome back some of our Softball Alumni for our Alumni Appreciation Day on Saturday, April 6. If you are in the neighborhood, make sure you stop in to support your Bison!
Another date to mark on your calendars is April 27 when we take on Holy Cross in the final Patriot League regular season games of the season. In addition, we will celebrate our four seniors- Noelle Gardon, Zoie Smith, Hunter Vestal, and Annabella Hawkins, who have given so much to this program. We would love to have your support out at Becker Field for the finale of our spring regular season games!
Lastly, and most importantly, I just want to share my sincerest gratitude to everyone who supported our program during One Herd One Day. The support means everything to us, and it helps us in our journey to not only compete all season long but to provide the best possible student-athlete experience that we can. We can’t do what we do without your support all year long, so thank you so very much!
