Bucknell University Athletics
Update from Head Rowing Coach Steve Kish -- November 2023
Greetings from the Susquehanna River,
Â
We are almost 11 weeks into the fall semester, with five more to go until our winter training camp in mid-December. In terms of the overall year, we are now in the second quarter.
Â
This Saturday, we will race here at home at 3 p.m. against Fordham University, and next Saturday, we will face Villanova University at 9 a.m. and Lehigh University at 3 p.m. This will be the varsity group's first competition of the semester and the novice group's first-ever competition as a rower or coxswain.
Â
While the team dynamic is strong and the overall mojo is very positive, we know we are entering into the most important and challenging ten weeks of the year. Temperatures drop, daylight hours slip away, final exams are right around the corner, and then there is the long winter break away from campus. Relying on each other, pushing each other, and inspiring each other, the group will continue to work on their focus and fitness.
Â
Thanks to everyone for your support so far this year. We couldn't provide this challenging but incredibly rewarding student-athlete experience without all of you. I look forward to updating you on our progress in a month's time.
