LEWISBURG, Pa. – Thomas Yerbury made a career-high seven saves as the Bucknell men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Colgate on Saturday night at Emmitt Field.

Yerbury made four second-half saves including his biggest stop of the game in the 85th minute of action. After a hectic sequence at the other end that almost saw the Bison find the breakthrough, Colgate came down the other end quickly on the counter attack. The sophomore came off his line to clear an initial ball in, but Blake Pipkin won possession and fired a shot from 40 yards out. Yerbury got back to his line and made a last-ditch effort to make the save.

In the sequence just prior to the Yerbury save, Colin Findlay nearly won it for the Bison. Colgate cleared the initial ball on a corner that trickled right to Findlay at the top of the box. Findlay curled his shot into the top-left corner, but Malik Samms cleared the shot off the goal line to keep the match scoreless.

Bucknell (2-4-1, 1-0-1 PL) remain unbeaten with four points in the Patriot League to sit in third on the table after two matches. Colgate (1-5-3, 0-1-1) have now gone eight straight games without a win.
Both teams fired 11 shots, with Colgate out-shooting Bucknell 7-4 with shots on target. Colgate's Gavin Vichengrad made three saves in the match.

Vichengrad was challenged early in the match as Bucknell came close to the first goal in just the sixth minute. Jacob Thomas had a ball teed up for a shot, but his effort deflected off Permyashkin and nearly snuck by Vichengrad.

Colgate's best chance of the half came in the 13th minute of action as the Bison defense blocked a shot before Yerbury was forced to make his second save.

Eight of Bucknell's 11 shots came in the second half as the Bison controlled possession for the majority of the half. Colgate had several opportunities on the counter attack, but the Bison defense and Yebury were alert to the chances.

Bucknell returns to action on Tuesday night for a non-conference matchup with Saint Joseph's at 7 p.m. at Emmitt Field.
