Kelly Cook’s 100th Win Comes in 8-1 Rout of Mount St. Mary’s
8/20/2026 6:53:00 PM | Women's Soccer
Now 2-1 on the season, Bucknell scored its most goals since an 8-0 win at Iona in 2016, and it was the most at home since a 9-0 victory over Delaware State in 2002.
"I thought on our trip out west we created a ton of opportunities, but our execution on the finishing end was not what we needed," said Cook, who is the first mentor in program history to reach the 100-win milestone. "Today I was very happy with our execution in the final third, and we scored some really nice goals as a result. It was great to get some players their first career goals and assists, and we got contributions from everyone."
Win 💯 for our coach Kelly Cook! First in team history to reach the milestone. On to the next hundred! #rayBucknell @PatriotLeague | @NCAASoccer | @UnitedCoaches pic.twitter.com/pGR46umPol

Fourteen different Bison registered a point, with Ashley Kozlowski and Tennessee Murphy scoring their first career goals. Presley Sutter notched a brace, and Howard tallied a goal and an assist as Bucknell piled up a 30-4 shot advantage.
The Bison found plenty space in the middle of field, and they cashed in just 7:05 into the match. Patriot League Rookie of the Week Ingrid Murphy centered for Katie Connell, who laid a ball off to Howard for the goal from the right side of the area.
Howard was involved in another goal just four minutes later. Louisa Thomsen sent Howard down the right flank, and her cross from near the end line was put home on the half-volley by Sutter inside the 6-yard box.
Right on the half-hour mark, Emma Gavin's header was cleared off the goal line, but Riley Hayes was right there to pop home the rebound.
Freshman striker Tennessee Murphy came off the bench for her collegiate debut after missing the first two games of the season due to injury, and she joined the goal-scoring party in 34th minute. Bella Connell's corner kick was nodded to the center of the area by Clare Nemsick, and Murphy took a touch before clipping a left-footed shot into the back of the net.
Kozlowski finished off the first-half flurry with her first career goal, a rip into the right-side netting after Caitlyn Scott played her in with a headed ball forward.
It was more of the same in the second half, as just six minutes after the resumption of play Gaby Parker cut in from the right side and sent a deflected shot over the reach of goalkeeper Abigail Makela. Sutter's second of the day came in the 84th minute off the first career assist from Kenice Wilson, who beat her mark on the right edge of the area and slotted a nice pass in front to Sutter.
Cassidy Nichols ruined the shutout with a goal in the 85th minute. Reese Dolan made a tough save on Nichols' initial shot, but she put back her own rebound.
Sutter nearly had a hat trick on a nice ball in from Bella Connell, but it was put in by a Mountaineers defender for an own goal to finish the scoring.
Sarah McFarland and Dolan made one save apiece for Bucknell, while Makela had seven saves for the Mount. Bucknell led 10-1 in corner kicks.
Next up is a home date with La Salle on Sunday at 1 p.m.
