Bison Men Finish Fifth at 2026 Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell men's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2026 Patriot League Championships with a fifth-place finish at Lejeune Hall on Saturday night.
The Bison (863) closed the gap on Boston U. in fourth place on the final day but could not overcome the Terriers (936). Navy (1,792) got back on top as the 2026 champions after Army ended the Mids' long run of championships last year. Army (1,210) took second and Loyola (1,061) finished in third for the third straight season.
William Shoemaker opened the night with a time of 15:32.56 in the 1,650 freestyle. Shoemaker was just two seconds off of his personal record in the event.
Drew Davis and Braden Beagle took fifth and sixth in the B-Final of the 200 backstroke. Davis' time of 1:47.78 was a personal record and is the fifth-fastest time on Bucknell's top-10 lists after. Beagle finished with a time of 1:48.29 in the finals. Caleb Hagadorn set the eighth fastest time while winning the C-Final with a time of 1:48.36.
Colin Smith took fifth in the B-Final of the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.93, and Drew Greene was four-hundredths of a second behind him at 44.97. Earlier in the day, Smith swam a time of 44.23 that ranks third on Bucknell's top-10 lists.
Finn Russell swam a time of 45.29, and Dante Buonadonna was right behind him at 45.33 in the C-Final.
James Lombardi took third in the B-Final of the 200 breaststroke with a personal record of 1:59.47. Lombrdi's time is now the fifth-fastest time in the event. Evan Hepburn swam the sixth-fastest time on the top-10 lists with a time of 1:59.50 after breaking into the top-10 in the morning session with a time of 2:00.04. Matt Raudabaugh swam in the C-Final with a time of 2:02.81.
Jason Kellerman took sixth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:47.01 that is the third-fastest time in school history. Wynne also competed in the A-Final with a time of 1:52.05. Earlier in the day, Wynne set the fifth-fastest time with a 1:47.50.
Damian Czartoryjski took sixth in the B-Final with a time of 1:50.45. Riley Twiss was right behind him in seventh with a time of 1:50.95.
The Bison ended the day with a time of 2:58.33 in the 400 freestyle relay as Smith, Kellerman, Davis and Greene set the sixth-fastest time in school history in the event. Â
Bucknell's season continues at home with the ECAC Championships at Kinney Natatorium from Friday through Sunday.
