Jess Leon Named to Preseason All-Patriot League Team

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell senior defender Jess Leon earned a spot on the Preseason-All League Women's Lacrosse Team on Thursday. The Westport, Conn. native was one of five defenders named to the 18-player squad.
Leon is entering her second season with the program, after playing two seasons of field hockey before joining Bison women's lacrosse as sophomore in 2024. Last season the defender started in all 16 games and earned Patriot League All-League Second Team for her performance.
In 2025, Leon led the Patriot League in caused turnovers (36) and ended the season ranked 13th in the NCAA for caused turnovers per game with 2.27. She also led the Patriot League in ground balls with 45 and ended the season ranked 20th in the NCAA for ground balls per game with 2.87. Leon earned one Patriot League Defender of the Week honor during the 2025 season.
The defender etched her name in the Bucknell women's lacrosse record book in caused turnovers as she took third place in caused turnovers in a single season with her 36.
The Bison open their 2026 season on Friday, Feb. 6 against Youngstown State at 6 p.m.
