Aleksa Stefanovic Wins MAWPC Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Aleksa Stefanovic led the Bison to a 3-1 record at the Bucknell Invitational this past weekend and the MAWPC conference office awarded him with Player of the Week honors as announced Tuesday.

This is Stefanovic's first weekly award since 2022, when he won Rookie of the Week. The last Bison to win Player of the Week was Josh Yardley on March 22 during the 2020-21 spring season.

Stefanovic notched 17 goals, draw five exclusions, distributed four assists, swiped three steals, and recorded two blocks. His ubiquitous presence led to Bucknell defeating Air Force, Salem, and MAWPC-foe Wagner.

Stefanovic played a crucial role in the win over Wagner, scoring seven of Bucknell's 14 goals. The Bison led 12-8 before the Seahawks tied the game. Stefanovic scored the game's final two cage-finders to edge Wagner.

He tallied seven goals against Salem in the 18-15 victory. Salem was receiving votes in the top 20 poll.

Bucknell plays two MAWPC foes in George Washington and Navy this weekend.
