Lewisburg, Pa. - Bucknell women's tennis senior Whitney King and junior Abby Platt were named to 2025 Patriot League All-League teams on Friday afternoon. King earned a spot on the All-Patriot League First Team and Platt earned a spot on the All-Patriot League Second Team.
This is the first time since 2021 that the Bison have had two representatives on the All-League teams.Â
Whitney King earned her third First Team All-Patriot League honor in a row as she saw a spot on the squad both in 2023 and 2024 as the lone Bucknell representative. She is the fourth Bucknell women's tennis player to make the All-Patriot League First Team three times in her career.
This season, King posted an overall 15-7 record in singles play and went 3-3 in singles in the Patriot League. In doubles play, King and Platt went 18-8 overall and 4-3 in the Patriot League. King also moved herself up in Bucknell's record books as she ended her Bison career 4th all-time in doubles wins with 79, 9th all-time in singles wins with 62 and 7th all-time in combined wins with 141.Â
Alongside going 18-8 overall and 4-3 in doubles play with King, Platt went 10-15 overall in singles and 4-3 in Patriot League singles this season. Platt also climbed her way up the Bucknell record books, ending the season tied for 27th all-time in singles wins with 45, 11th in doubles wins with 60 and 14th in combined wins with 105.
