RESULTS
IJAMSVILLE, Md. – The Bucknell men's golf team got off to a strong start in Sunday's final round at the Testudo Cup, but the Bison struggled coming home and finished in 10th place. Jack Hartman finished in fifth place in a field of 78 players, and Michael Rudnick led the squad on Sunday with a 3-over-par 75.
Hartman began the day 6-under for the tournament and just one stroke behind leader Yang Kuang of Maryland. The Bison freshman started on the eighth hole and shot out of the gates in round three with five birdies in his first seven holes. Hartman opened up a three-shot lead at 11-under, but he found trouble from there and ended up shooting 76.
Kuang was even for the day, and his 7-under 209 was good for a 2-shot win over Delaware's Casper Nerpin. Hartman shot 69-69-76 for a 214 composite, tying him for fifth with Virginia Tech's Gareth Steyn and Manhattan's Louis Vandeputte.
Bucknell totaled 893 as a team over 54 holes, with rounds of 299-287-307. Host Maryland finished at 11-under 853, six shots ahead of runner-up Delaware. Virginia Tech was well back in third at 873.
The Bison also counted a 77 from Patrick Pritsios and a 79 from James Robbins in the final round.
Bucknell is back on the course next weekend at Penn State's Rutherford Intercollegiate.
