RESULTS
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Bucknell men's golf team's Spring Break trip started out in wet and chilly conditions, and the Bison opened up The Bash at the Beach with 303 team score on Monday. Appalachian State's tournament started with a weather delay, and the 36-hole day was shortened to 18.
James Key paced the Bison with a solid 3-over-par 74. Key made three birdies on the day and was 1-under on the Surf Club's back nine.
Jack Hartman followed with a 75, and the Bison also counted a 76 from Patrick Pritsios and a 78 from Hayden Quinn.
Two teams broke par on Monday, Connecticut with a 4-under 280 and Longwood with a 2-under 282. Host App State is third at even par 284, followed by Queens (285) and Radford (286).
There is a three-way tie atop the individual leaderboard among App State's Herman Haus, Radford's Jack Urban, and Longwood's Hunter Swidzinski, who all shot 68. Four others are lurking one shot back, and seven players are 1-under.
The second and final round gets underway on Tuesday morning.
