Women's Golf Wraps Up Week in Florida

PALM CITY, Fla. -- The Bucknell women's golf team concluded its week at the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate with a 317 team score on Tuesday at Hammock Creek GC. The Bison compiled a 955 total over 54 holes and finished in 17th place in a challenging field. Â
Freshman Sophia Bardunias led the team in the third round with a 4-over-par 76, her best of the week. Bardunias made a birdie and 13 pars to finish strong in the team's first event of 2025. She shot 82-78 in the first two rounds and led the team with six birdies on the week.
Tara Thomas posted her second round in the 70s this week with a closing 78. She started with a 76 on Sunday. Bucknell also counted Lila Smith's 80 and Katherine Vice's 83 in the final round. Â
Virginia Tech led wire-to-wire, closing with a 283 for a 22-under total of 842. Runner-up Little Rock was 29 shots back at 878. East Tennessee State (881), Elon (883), and Jacksonville State (883) rounded out the top five.Â
Also winning wire-to-wire was Virginia Tech's Valentine Delon, who opened the tournament with a 7-under 65 and finished at 8-under 208. She held off teammate Morgan Ketchum, who shot 69 on Tuesday to finish two shots back at 6-under 210. Ashley Kim of Arkansas State (-3), Kelly Zhao of Elon (-2), and Emily Mathews of Virginia Tech (-1) all finished in red numbers.Â
Bucknell returns to Florida for the Babs Steffens Invitational, hosted by Stetson at DeBary CC on Feb. 24-25.Â
