Lehker Third in Pentathlon on Day One of the Bison Open

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The 2025-26 track & field season began on Friday night at the Bison Opener in Gerhard Fieldhouse and Bucknell captain Madeline Lehker put together several good performances to finish third in the pentathlon. Â
Results
Lehker's first place finish in the high jump boosted her overall score of 2979 points. The high jump specialist posted a 5-2.25 mark in the event to easily take first. She threw 32-4.75 in the shot put to finish second and also placed fourth in the long jump (16-2.50) and 800-meter run (2:41.46) to overcome her 11th placement in the 60-meter hurdles (10.38).Â
Her three Bison teammates currently slot 5-6-7. Samantha Cole was fifth with 2873 points after finishing third in the 60-meter hurdles (9.55). Freshman Allie DeMatt made her collegiate debut tonight, placing sixth with 2783 points. DeMatt placed second in the long jump (16-10.50). Megan Cain positioned at seventh scoring 2761 points after winning the 60-meter hurdles (9.45).Â
Renee Simmonds (Indiana University of Pennsylvania) finished first with 3102 points and Kaitlin Calvello (Shippensburg) is in second with 2991 points.
The Bison Opener concludes tomorrow. Events resume at 8:30 a.m.Â
