Kira Leclercq Repeats as NFHCA First Team All-Region

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Kira Leclercq added another bullet point to her illustrious resume by repeating as NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) First Team All-Region for the second consecutive year, as announced Wednesday by the organization. The senior defender already repeated as Patriot League Defensive of the Year. 160 players were recognized with All-Region honors divided into five regions: Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Northeast, South and West. Each of these regions recognizes up to 16 student-athletes on both the first and second teams.

Leclercq now collected three All-Region awards in her career. She earned Second Team in 2023 and First Team in 2024. She joined Amanda Faust (2006-08) and Lily Neilson (2022-24) as the only Bison to notch three All-Region honors.Â
She enjoyed a banner senior campaign setting career highs by leading the team in goals (13) and points (32), as Bucknell averaged 2.52 goals per game, en route to a 10-7 record - the first double-digit win total since 2018. Her defensive leadership directed a Bison defense that held opponents to 1.35 goals per game (second best in the conference) and recorded six shutouts. Leclercq supplied six defensive saves - second in the loop.Â
Leclercq firmly wrote her name into the Bucknell record book. She concluded her career second in defensive saves (27), eighth in points (73), and ninth in goals (27). In single-season categories, she is second (9), third (8), and fifth (6) in defensive saves and narrowly missed the top ten for goals.Â
She repeated as Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year (2024 & 2025), becoming the first Orange & Blue athlete to win the honor twice. She is a three-time First Team All-Patriot League honoree and was a 2024 First Team All-ECAC member. Leclercq has a credible chance at All-American laurels.Â
The NFHCA Division I All-Region team announcement is the first in a list of NFHCA postseason awards over the next several weeks. Next to be announced are the NFHCA Regional Players of the Year on December 11, followed by the NFHCA All-American teams on December 16 and the NFHCA National Player of the Year on December 18.
