LEWISBURG, Pa. — Three Bison earned Academic All-Patriot League honors for their contributions on the field, in the classroom and in the community throughout the 2025 season.
Senior John Ohnegian and juniors Sam Milligan and TJ Cadden are the three Bucknell Athletes to earn the honor. The three players are a league-high for members on the Academic All-Patriot League squad, with all other conference schools only having one or two athletes representing them.
Earlier this week, John Ohnegian earned All-Patriot League Second Team for the second consecutive season after his performance in 2025. The senior is a two-time captain for the Bison and has started every game since his sophomore season on the offensive line. He has been a major aspect of the Bison's record breaking offensive efforts for the last three years.
The center is an Economics major at Bucknell and has been on the Dean's list all throughout his time with the Bison. Ohnegian is currently the President of Bison Cares, a leadership organization for student-athletes that focuses on community service and civic engagement. Members represent their teams to create, share, and participate in community service opportunities, empowering student-athletes to become civically engaged leaders. The organization has planned various events, such as making blankets for Project Linus and writing cards for local community members. The senior is also involved in Bucknell's Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization.
Sam Milligan is a business analytics major that has earned multiple Dean's list nods and also earned all-league honors earlier this week when he picked up All-Patriot League First Team as the special teams non-specialist for the second consecutive season and added on a spot on the All-Patriot League Second Team as a wide receiver. The junior had a standout season that kicked off with him breaking Bucknell's single-game receiving touchdown record with four against VMI on Saturday, Sept. 13. He also found a spot at sixth in the record book in receiving yards in a single game with 192 in that game. Milligan ended the season with 975 receiving yards which ranks third in the record book for single-season receiving yards and ranks top-10 in the FCS. He also led the Patriot League in receiving touchdowns with 10 which ranked top-10 in the FCS rankings. Milligan saw time on all aspects of the field including as a wide receiver, special teams non-specialist, quarterback, running back and defensive back. The receiver rushed the ball 18 times for 63 yards and one rushing touchdown. He also returned a blocked punt for a touchdown, went 2-for-2 in passing and recorded seven solo tackles throughout the season.
TJ Cadden, a Finance major that has earned multiple Dean's list honors also made the Patriot League Academic All-League team for his contributions in 2025. The junior played in and started all 12 games for the Bison this season. He had 52 receptions for 693 yards and 6 receiving touchdowns. He also rushed the ball once for 18 yards. The junior returned 28 kicks for 570 yards and 16 punts for 195 yards on the season. He also ranked top-20 in the FCS for All-Purpose Yards throughout the season.
Along with the three Academic All-Patriot League honors, the Bison landed four on the All-Patriot League teams earlier this week with Milligan, Ohnegian, Matt Schearer and Ralph Rucker IV earning spots.
