LEWISBURG, Pa. – Freshman Drew Davis earned the latest Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor after a great weekend at the Bucknell Invitational where he set multiple new marks on Bucknell's top-10 lists.
Davis set the sixth-fastest time in the 100 back on Friday night as the freshman led off of Bucknell's 400 Medley Relay team. Davis swam the 100 back in 49.33 as Bucknell placed 10th in the event with a time of 3:19.59.
On Sunday, Davis was back at it again in the backstroke, this time setting a top-10 time in the 200 back. He swam a time of 1:49.04 that is good for the 10th-fastest time in the event. He placed 10th in the event and second in the B-final to earn 17 points.
On the first day, Davis collected 12 points with a 15th place finish in the 200 IM in 1:51.30.
On Saturday, Davis swam the first leg of the 200 medley relay as the Bison finished ninth for 32 points. He later placed 13th in the 100 fly, swimming a time of 49.43 to earn 14 points.
His best individual finish over the weekend came in the 100 back on Saturday, swimming a time of 49.60. The time would have been good for a top-10 mark if he had not already set the mark the previous day. He finished eighth in the A-final to collect 22 points.
On Sunday, Davis finished his weekend kicking off the 400 free relay as the Bison took ninth to earn 32 points.
Bucknell is back in action again after the winter break, traveling to Army on Saturday, January 10.
