11/20/2025 9:30:00 AM | Field Hockey
LEWISBURG, Pa.- Kira Leclercq continued her award haul by receiving a slot on the prestigious yearly NFHCA Division I Senior Team, as announced Thursday by the organization. Leclercq was one of 38 seniors selected for their competitive excellence, leadership, and lasting influence within their programs. Her selection marked back-to-back recipients for Bucknell - Lily Neilson earned it last year - and five times in the last six campaigns.Â
Selections are based on nominations submitted by NFHCA member coaches and reviewed by committees composed entirely of NFHCA coach members. Seniors are eligible for selection only once during their collegiate careers.
NFHCA Release | NFHCA Senior Highlight Reel (Leclercq's footage starts at 3:57)
Leclercq was only one of four Patriot League players and one of 11 defenders to earn the privilege. The senior defender dominated the water-soaked pitch offensively and defensively for Bucknell. She led the team in goals (13), points (32), and defensive saves (6), which all ranked top five in the conference lists. Nationally, she slots fifth in defensive goals (6), 25th in goals per game (.76), and 28th in points per game (1.88).
She finished her illustrious career with 27 goals - ninth in Bucknell history, 73 points - seventh in the Bison record book, and 27 defensive saves - second in Bison lore. Leclercq repeated as Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year (2024 & 2025), becoming the first Orange & Blue athlete to win the honor twice. She is three-time First Team All-Patriot League honoree, was named to the 2024 All-NFCA First Team, and a 2024 First Team All-ECAC member. Leclercq is likely to repeat All-NFCA First Team honors in the upcoming weeks and has a credible chance at All-American laurels.Â
NFHCA All-Region will be released on Dec. 3.Â
