LEWISBURG, Pa.- The MAWPC released its 2025Â MAWPC All-Conference Teams as voted upon by the head coaches on Thursday and the Bucknell Bison men's water polo program placed a player on the First Team, another athlete on the Second Team, and also notched an Honorable Mention. Senior attacker Aleksa Stefanovic earned First Team, fellow attacker Tyler Hedblad grabbed Second Team honors, and goalkeeper David Dumitru received the Honorable Mention.Â
Stefanovic completed his progression into one of water polo's most accurate and dangerous attackers. The senior sharpshooter leads the Bison in goals (83) and points (183). He is the only Bucknell player to score in every single game. Stefanovic twice tallied a season-high seven goals against Fresno Pacific and Salem. The attacker previously received All-MAWPC Second Team honors in 2022 & 2024. He has a career total of 318 goals.Â
Hedblad turned his sophomore campaign into a sensation. After scoring 47 goals in 2024, he sits on the team in goals (58) and points (125). A consistent marksman, he has tallied a cage-finder in every game except against #1 UCLA this season. This is his first MAWPC honor.Â
Dumitru has spent three seasons as the Bison's main goalkeeper and the junior has had his finest season to date, recording 244 saves and 38 steals. The Bucharest native now has 755 career saves and 75 steals. The Honorable Mention is his inaugural MAWPC award.Â
