Coach Dan Wirnsberger was pleased with Takats's performance and following the match said, "Myles continues to improve each and every week and he is consistent with his preparation and it shows in the competition arena. Myles showed plenty of grit and determination with his two wins at the Virginia Duals against two very good opponents. He trains and competes with energy and his confidence continues to grow. I'm excited to see how his season unfolds and his best wrestling is still to come."
Takats (174) drew the Bison within 21-9 against No. 13 Iowa State with his 9-6 decision victory over No. 11 MJ Gaitan. Takats entered the match ranked No. 32 by Intermat.Â
In the day's previous dual versus Rider, his 17-0 technical fall victory over Michael Wilson sealed Bucknell's 23-15 victory by extending the Orange & Blue's lead to 23-12 preventing any chance of a Rider rally.Â
The two victories improved Takats to 14-4 on the season and boosted him to 27th in the Intermat rankings.Â
