Softball Schedules All-Pennsylvanian Fall Ball Slate

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Fresh off a 2024 season where the Bison won a Patriot League Tournament game, the 47th edition of Bucknell softball will sharpen their skills and test the latest freshmen in a vigorous fall ball schedule. The Bison will play some of Pennsylvania's finest clubs in a four-weekend slate. Bucknell softball fans will have three chances to watch their diamond heroes at Becker Field.Â
"We are super excited to take the field this fall with Team 47," said head coach Sarah Caffrey. "I can tell the returners put in plenty of owrk this off-season and we cannot wait to showcase our six newcomers. Every team we play is competitive and they will be a great test to help prepare us for the 2025 season."
The fall ball season starts insular with the traditional Orange & Blue Scrimmage on Sept. 21. The team will divide into two hard-competing squads and play for bragging rights.Â
Games against opposition start the next day at Penn State. The Bison travel west to face Route 45 Rival Penn State and Seton Hill in a doubleheader at Beard Field. The Penn State game is at 11 a.m. and the Seton Hill contest follows at 1:30 p.m.
Bucknell returns home to Becker Field to challenge their Interstate 80 neighbor Bloomsburg University on Sept. 28. The two schools faced off last fall in Lewisburg.Â
The next day, Bucknell welcomes Saint Francis University from the west-central portion of the Commonwealth. The two teams were scheduled to meet in 2024 but rainy conditions canceled the confrontation.Â
Fall ball concludes the following weekend on Oct. 14 when another Interstate 80-attached school in Lock Haven journeys to Lewisburg.
