Men’s Tennis Concludes Strong Weekend at Carnegie Mellon

RESULTS
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Four members of the Bucknell men's tennis team wrapped up a strong weekend at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational by splitting a pair of doubles matches and taking three of four singles tilts on Sunday.
The Bison mixed up their doubles teams in the final round. After going 2-0 with Shiv Singh on Saturday, Nelson Alapi played with Brendan McDonald on Sunday and won 6-3 against Aril Kayra Tuna and Keita Duclos of Duquesne.
Alapi, Singh, and Felix Steindl – all freshmen – capped off the weekend with straight-set singles wins over players from Ediboro. Steindl was the most dominant, winning 6-0, 6-1 over Masayuki Matsuno. Singh was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Gerardo Garrido, and Alapi defeated Mathis Amsellem 6-4, 6-4. McDonald dropped a three-setter to Alex Feies of CMU.
Loyola's Rick McClure Invitational has been canceled next weekend, so Bucknell's next scheduled event is now Oct. 4-6 at Richmond's River City Open.
