Teresa Deda Named to Hermann Trophy Watch List

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior midfielder Teresa Deda was one of 44 players named on Thursday to the 2024 Hermann Trophy Watch List. The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club and is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by voting of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.

The watch list was compiled by members of the Division I Women's All-America Council from a list of returning 2023 All-Americans and First Team All-Region players. A total of 15 players will be named 2024 Hermann Trophy semifinalists on December 4 at the conclusion of NCAA Division I All-American voting. From that list, head coaches will cast votes, and three players will be named finalists. The 2024 recipient will be announced January 3, 2025, in a ceremony at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis, Mo.

Deda was one of 26 players recently named to the United Soccer Coaches "Midfielders to Watch" List, and last week she was selected as the Patriot League Preseason Midfielder of the Year.

One of the catalysts of Bucknell's three straight Patriot League championships, Deda captured Patriot League Midfielder of the Year honors in both 2022 and 2023 and is a three-time First Team All-Patriot League selection. She was a United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region pick last season, when she recorded nine goals and nine assists. She has led the league in assists in each of her first three seasons, and her 29 career assists rank second in Bucknell history and sixth in Patriot League history. She also ranks fourth among all active Division I players in career assists.

The Bison begin their 2024 campaign against on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium.
