Softball Lands 13 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Continuing its historical trend of strong academic performances, the Bucknell softball program landed 13 players on the 2023-24 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list. The team also finished 28th nationally in GPA (3.65) for the Division I ranks.Â

Bucknell's 3.65 GPA was the highest recorded by a Patriot League program for the academic year. The next conference team was Boston University at 98. The Bison ranked ninth nationally in 2022-23, recording a 3.71 GPA.Â
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,573 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2023-24. NCAA Division III followed with 2,285 and NCAA Division II with 1,510. NAIA and junior colleges came in with 873 and 808 student-athletes respectively. Five student-athletes from Penn State Brandywine earned recognition in the Other Four-Year category.
