Bison Varsity Four Named Patriot League Boat of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Make it three weeks and three different Bucknell crews earning Patriot League Boat of the Week honors, as the Bison Varsity Four was cited on Wednesday after a strong performance against Lehigh.
Bucknell swept all four head-to-head races with the Mountain Hawks on Sunday on the Susquehanna River, and the 1V4+ was the most dominant. The Bison clocked in at 7:14.26, which was more than 25 seconds faster than Lehigh's entry.
Katie Lash was the coxswain this week, guiding Alina Kelly, Kona Glenn, Hayden Groves, and Victoria Miller-Tuchon. It's been a good spring for this quintet, as they previously earned a win over Connecticut and a runner-up finish at the George Mason Invitational.
Bucknell's Second Varsity Eight earned Patriot League Boat of the Week honors after its win at GMU, and then last week it was the Varsity Eight's turn after a strong outing in a win over UConn.
The Bison rowing squad is now off until May 17, when it will compete at the Patriot League Championships on the Cooper River in New Jersey.
