Bison Men Sit Seventh After First Day of IC4A Championships

FAIRFAX, Va.- The Bucknell Bison men's track & field team placed seventh on the first day of the 147th IC4A Outdoor Championships. Bucknell tallied 24 points and seven Bison earned All-East honors (finishing top eight), already three more than last year's total.

Three Bison runners placed top eight in the 5000-meter run. Ben Santos led the pick, winning bronze and six points. His time of 14:24.38 sealed the accomplishment. Sophomore Trent Dinant and Henry Didden set personal best times. Dinant's seventh-place mark of 14:29.08 won two points and Didden's eighth-place pace of 14:32.15 earned one. Dinant repeated an All-East for the second-straight season.Â
Jeffrey Cianfrocca notched fourth in the high jump. The sophomore leaped 6-6 to win five points.Â
Bernard Kemp competed in his first-ever IC4A Outdoor Championships and finished fifth in the long jump. The rookie's 23-2 mark netted four points.Â
Two shot put throwers unlocked top-eight placements. Braden Stryker finished sixth with a heave of 54-4 1/2 and Wade Shomper's toss of 53-0 3/4 placed seventh. Stryker won three points and Shomper deposited two. Both throwers repeated their All-East accomplishments from 2023.Â
Jack Higgins concluded his promising rookie campaign by finishing eighth in the 1500-meter run. His time of 3:52.85 notched one point.Â
Aiden Tacker finished 13th in the hammer throw but his toss of 184-2 is ninth-best in Bucknell history.Â
