LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team won the Colonial Relays this past weekend and senior star Karen Hull played a crucial role in the accomplishment. Her feats in four events enabled Bucknell to win the meet and Hull to earn her third Bison of the Week award of 2023-24 and the fourth of her career.
Hull collected 22.5 points at the Colonial Relays to win the Meet MVP and gathered 20 points in the field events to win Field MVP. She won the long and high jumps events and finished seventh in the 4x100-meter relay and the 100-meter hurdles as part of her well-rounded efforts.Â
In the high jump, she won the jump-off at 5-8 to take home the victory. The mark counts for NCAA seeding and would rank first in Bucknell history if Hull did not already own the school record. The feat scored ten points for the Bison.Â
Hull shined in the long jump, winning the event with a leap of 19-2 1/4. The victory brought home ten points for Bucknell, gave her 28 career event triumphs, and inserted Hull third in the Bison record book. It is Hull's eighth top-ten mark in Bucknell history.Â
She anchored the 4x100-meter relay team that placed seventh (48.00) and earned seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (14.58). The placements added 2.5 points to her total and the Bison treasury.Â
The Bison and Hull return to action this weekend when Bucknell hosts the Bison Outdoor Classic on April 12-14.Â
