
Women's Track & Field Holds First After Day One of the Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field leads the competition after day one of the Colonial Relays. The Bison women's 79 points grant them a slim six-point lead over the hosting William & Mary Tribe encased in second. Bucknell earned three event victories and several top-ten placements in Bison history.

Meghan Quinn added another banner day to her lengthy collection with two top-five finishes and 18 points. The senior speedster won gold and ten points in the 100-meter dash with her time of 11.68. In the 200-meter dash, she mined silver and eight points in 24.21. Quinn currently holds first in meet MVP honors.
Bucknell amassed 22 points on three placements in the javelin throw. Evelyn Bliss continued her impressive collegiate start with her first event win, earning ten points. The freshman tossed the instrument 156-7 feet. Brylee Tereska obtained silver and eight points on her 143-11 mark. Melissa Viellette grabbed fifth place and four points on a 114-7 ¾ throw.
The Bison collected 11 points in the long jump. Karen Hull won gold and ten points on her 19-2 ¼ attempt. The mark ranks the decorated senior third in Bucknell history. Abby Eisold slotted and added one ducat with her 17-2 ½ jump.
Bucknell won nine points in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Ally Clarke's 10:49.58 earned bronze and six points. Kailey Granger's 11:05.61 brought home sixth place and three points. She missed entry into the Bucknell top ten by less than half a minute.
Ella Derstine notched bronze and six points in the 400-meter hurdles. The junior's 1:03.32 brought home the results.
The 10,000-meter run witnessed a historic day for Lauren Trapani. The junior runner finished fifth, winning four points. Her 36:08.26 mark ranks ninth in the Bucknell record book.
Caryn Rippey placed sixth and won four pints in the 5000-meter run. The sophomore runner had a time of 17:12.13.
Madison McGloin earned seventh and three points in the hammer invite. Her 166-5 effort powered the placement.
Two Bison pole vaulters combined for a point in the event. Elizabeth Bryant and Karly Renn shared eighth place with their clearance of 10-11.
Abby Paczewski finished ninth in the 1500-meter run and added a point to the Bison efforts, thanks to an unattached runner placing fourth. The senior raced for a time of 4:36.44.
