Results
"It was great to see Bernard have the tremendous opportunity to represent his home country in a world-class U20 meet," said Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner. "His marks were outstanding and the experience should kickstart his outdoor season at the collegiate level."
Kemp finished as the highest-ranking Bahamian athlete in the U20 Men's long jump by winning silver. His mark of 7.40m converts to 24-3 1/4 in English measurement. He finished only 0.08 meters behind the first-place finisher, Rickoy Hunter (Jamaica), and was 0.08 meters ahead of the bronze winner, Teon Haynes (Barbados).Â
His long jump attempt ranked fifth in Bison history for outdoors. The rookie already holds the eighth-place slot in the indoor long jump for Bucknell.Â
Additionally, the freshman tied for bronze in the U20 men's high jump. His jump of 1.95m converts to 6-4 3/4 in English measurement. He tied with Shamar Davis as the highest-placing Bahamian jumper.
