LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior guard Jack Forrest and sophomore center Noah Williamson were named to the PenFed Credit Union All-Patriot League Men's Basketball Team on Monday. Forrest, who has been one of the league's leading scorers all season, was named to the First Team, while Williamson was a Third Team selection amidst a breakout season.
Forrest is the first Bison to earn First Team honors since Kimble Mackenzie in 2019, and Bucknell has now claimed a First Team honoree in 26 of the Patriot League's 34 years of existence. Forrest joined American's Matt Roger, Lehigh's Tyler Whitney-Sidney, and Colgate's Keegan Records and Braden Smith on this year's First Team. Smith was selected as the Player of the Year.
Forrest enters the Patriot League Tournament ranked fourth in the Patriot League in scoring at 16.0 points per game. A two-time Patriot League Player of the Week, Forrest also leads the league in minutes played (36.0 per game) and ranks second in 3-point field goals per game (2.6). He recorded a season-high 27 points at La Salle, he scored 23 in a win at Penn State, and he had 17 in a loss at No. 9 Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Forrest has six 20-point games and two double-doubles, and he has scored in double figures in all but three games this season.
Williamson has seen his role expand considerably this season. He played a total of only 86 minutes as the No. 3 center a year ago, but this year he has started every game except Saturday's Senior Night contest. Williamson ranks 12th in the Patriot League in scoring (11.8), eighth in rebounding (6.2), fifth in field-goal percentage (.493), and sixth in blocked shots (1.0).
The 7'0" center recorded a career-high 28 points in a home win over Loyola, which was one of his five 20-point games this season. He recorded 15 of his 21 points in the second half in the win at Penn State, and he had a 23-point, 16-rebound game against Lafayette.
Smith was selected as the Player of the Year after recording 12.2 points and a league-high 5.8 assists per game for regular-season champion Colgate. Holy Cross' Caleb Kenney was picked as the Defensive Player of the Year; Army's Josh Scovens was named Rookie of the Year; and Colgate's Matt Langel was named Coach of the Year.
Picked ninth in the Patriot League preseason poll, Bucknell finished the regular season in a four-way tie for second place. Tiebreakers relegated the Bison to the No. 5 seed for the Patriot League Tournament, and they will travel to No. 4 American on Thursday at 7 p.m.
