Men’s Golf Finishes 12th at Torrey Pines

RESULTS
LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Bucknell men's golf team on Tuesday closed out its second appearance at the famed Torrey Pines Golf Course with a 292 team tally, its best of the week, and finished in 12th place at the UC San Diego Invitational. Alex Creamean and James Key both shot even-par 72 in the final round.
Creamean and Key made three birdies apiece on the North Course on Tuesday. Creamean made three in a four-hole span before finishing up with six straight pars, while Key played his final 12 holes in 3-under. Creamean was the low Bison for the week, finishing T-30th with a 5-over 221 (75-74-72).
Key (76-75-72) and Andres Barraza (74-74-75) both finished T-46th at 223. Bucknell also counted a 73 from James Robbins in the final round, and Michael Rudnick's 77 was not used. Indie Jake Maddaloni finished up with a 79.
Bucknell shot 893 over the 54-hole tournament, one behind 11th-place Fordham. North Dakota State finished at 7-under 857 and was the only team to post a red number. Idaho was second at 2-over 866.
Jack Johnson of NDSU was the medalist at 8-under 208 (73-68-67). Johannes Hounsgaard of Idaho was the runner-up, three shots back.
The Bison are back in action on Apr. 15-16 at the Highland Meadows Intercollegiate in Ohio.
